The culmination of the New Covenant
I love this time of year. The days are beginning to lengthen and so much more can be done in daylight.
Soon the snowdrops will be out and the crocuses. Life is beginning to wake up from winter. It is a time of new beginnings. Boaters in their winter moorings will be waking up their boats. Soon we will see lambs in the fields.
As Christians, Christmas, and the feast of the Holy Innocents, are behind us. It is now the baptism of our Lord and the beginning of his ministry and of God’s new covenant. We look forward to the end of Epiphany as we celebrate Candlemas (and taking down our cribs) and then to Ash Wednesday and Lent.
And as boaters prepare their boats for the cruising season so, in Lent, Christians are preparing themselves for Easter.
Easter is the paramount season of our faith. The culmination of the New Covenant.
