The BCF seek to provide a user-friendly directory of churches in order to give boaters access to a reasonable selection of churches at suitably frequent moorings along the waterways. (A copy of this Church Directory and regular updates are supplied to all members of the BCF.) We cannot be certain of the accuracy of the service times and contact phone numbers. We do our best to check these but you are advised to moor up and visit the church to check the service times.
The 2010 edition is now on the website, please let Michael Greenslade know if there are any errors! Email It would be appreciated if churches could check their entry particularly the Service Times and Phone Contact Number.
Requests for inclusion of new entries and update information on existing churches will be gratefully received by the Directory’s Coordinator. Please note the following guidelines. Normally only the nearest church of each denomination can be included. (In towns even this may not be possible). This is necessary to keep the Directory to a manageable size.
Churches must be within about a mile of a usable mooring place.
We need to have information to go under each of the headings. Most importantly the “Bridge No.” (or name), “Mooring” and “Directions” details must have been actually checked out and precisely recorded at the place. A postcode or map reference is also a great help.
A church’s website address (if any) is most useful when doing our regular update checks.
Churches will only be added at the discretion of the directory coordinator. Please do not use commas in your text input To ADD details of another church or to UPDATE an existing entry on line please select from the main menu.
To VIEW the directory please select from the choices in the Main Menu. The latest version of the Church Directory is now available in the downloads section of the menu. Click on Files to access it. There are two versions:- 1 The Church Directory 2. The printed version for you to print out your own copy.
